i love your writing and this paragraph leapt out to me as a wonderful combination of meaningful and hilarious and very authentically you:

"It’s a tricky thing to be in the public and balance the persona with the authentic. Usually the authentic voice is reserved for private conversations with a defined audience who will catch your meaning, give you the benefit of the doubt, and have the larger context of who you are and your actual life. I’ve had such amazing access to “successful” people who are well-known — some household names — and I see how they are perceived and how our society admires workaholics who speak truths about addiction, spiritual leaders whose personal lives are a mess, and people so belovedly branded they have to check with their PR people the way a child must check with their mommy."
